the searchengines how to read and index your website, are no longer
used. An End to Metatags, Meta Tags no longer work & Death Of A Meta
Tag is what the self-proclaimed experts wrote in 2002.
They are wrong ! People keep re-writing the 2002 story over and over
again. Why does these experts want to make you beleive the metatags
are of no use ?
The test:
The so called expert did the following test:
He added the bogus word qiskodslajdmnkd to his keywords and a few days later
searched for all of these words on the four major search engines of Google,
Yahoo, Microsoft and Ask and found no pages that matched. If these search
engines made use of the meta keywords tag the page had to start coming up.
He searched for qiskodslajdmnkd and his home page didn’t come up.
Conclusion: The meta keyword tag was not supported.
This test was way too simplistic to prove anything!
This test for 'qiskodslajdmnkd, ddakaieciuaj
jkdalladpaoaw and wdaopeqndlkakljad” only proves that two engines don’t use it
for SERP display if the keywords in a meta tag don’t appear on a page.
Anything beyond that is conjecture as to cause-and-effect. Please search

Meta tags are not dead, meta tags are alive!
Searchengines use your meta tags 1-on-1.
It is like A B C ! You perform a search task by filling out:
(A) certain keywords. The results you will get is
(B) the title tag and
(C) the small text item, the description tag.
Some people pretend that the meta
description and the meta keywords don't do anything to your ranking.
They miss out on several points. Not only Google shows your
description tag but by adding a better and relevant text, more
people will click on the link and that provides you with a better
CTR (click through rate). And this CTR has a huge influence on your
ranking!
You may add the meta tags in all of
your webpages, so not only in the first index page. Make sure that on
every page relevant meta tags are added. Add keywords and phrases
that are relevant and correspond to the text on that specific page.
It might be a lot of work to add specific meta tags to each page but
you will notice in time that it works!
In SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
meta tags still play an important role. Especially the use of the meta
description is very important. This tag is shown by search engines as
a small text item in the search results. Make sure that the meta tags
on your website are unique for each and every page and try to make
them as attractive as possible. Both a relevant title tag and the
description tag have to persuade a visitor to click on the link in
the search results.
A relevant and interesting text will increase the number of clicks.
Let's be honest: Meta Tags are not
the "ultimate solution" to get ranked high into the search engines
overnight. There are many more methodes to get to the top of the list.
By the number of links on your site, the content of your site and how
your website is constructed. Also the age of your website or domain
is important. That being said: Meta tags are free and they help !
